Frequently asked questions
Does it matter what standard my Ukrainian is?
No! We organise courses for absolute beginners to those approaching fluency.
What kind of studies make up the course?
As with other language studies, listening, reading, writing and conversation skills are developed. The content of lessons may vary, depending on your level of language proficiency. It is therefore important for you to provide as much information as is relevant on your registration form to enable us to provide the right level of tuition for you.
If you have certain requirements (if, for example, you only want to practise your conversation skills) we recommend that you take individual lessons. It is also possible to combine individual tuition with group lessons.
How will my Ukrainian language skills be assessed?
On arrival at the university/language school you will be given a short test. This is just to enable the teachers to put you in the right group. If you are taking an individual course you can take a test which enables your teacher to organise lessons to suit your needs.
How expensive is it to stay in Ukraine?
It is almost impossible to estimate how much money you will need, because you can either lead a life of luxury or live very cheaply. So, it is up to you how much money you want to spend.
In a student dormitory or in an apartment, no meals are included. Family housing includes breakfast. On campus a hot meal costs a just few dollars.
Will you make travel arrangements to Ukraine?
The journey is normally your responsibility but we can help you with the booking of tickets. If you want a price quote, please indicate this when you register. However, we do arrange for you to be picked up at the airport or railway station when you arrive and dropped off when you return home after your studies.
What is included in the price of the course package?
General courses include tuition in a group of 2-12 students, 20 lessons per week, accommodation, and transfer from airport or railway station.
Individual courses include individual tuition, 10-30 lessons per week (depending on your choice), accommodation, and transfer from airport or railway station.
When do I need to pay for my course?
We request that you pay the registration fee when you register your official interest to study in Ukraine. Reservation of study place and accommodation will take place after paid registration fee. The remaining course fee should be paid no later than 30 days before the course starts. The application can be done directly on our website. You can also send the application by fax or mail.
